I doubt it,but im sure they will have a stern talking to over it,lol.Yeah, like that'll solve jack.
seriously though, they said if it comes down to it the U.S. would send 650,000 troops to south korea,so where on earth will they get all those people from? Our volunteer army is all in Iraq and Afghanistan.Well the only thing i can think of is the draft being reinstated.I hope it dosent come to that.

Hey, interesting thread - for me it's a worry. No doubt George Bush knows that to 'open fire' (they're the good guys?) in an extreme scenario with their pre-established arsenal of atomic weapons, or just (more likely) other lesser powerful weapons, would result in the creation of a war (yet another one). If he doesn't start a war, I will be happy and I might like Bush a lot more.

So do i trust GW-Bush with nukes more than i do this new kid on the block !
Lets see who is fighting all over the world and who is trying to defend themselves
Bush say that you are with us or against us and i think he is now getting a reply to that question from Russia, China, India, Iran, Koriea and many other places
many people in europe do not like what GW-Bush is doing and it's down to the american people to control their mad dog not ours.

North Korea has already said that they will take drastic measures to counter any sanctions placed against them. I don't think it's beyond possibility that they would strike at a neighboring country to prove their point.

ww3 will be like ww2. Japan started it in the 30s, there was a full scale war in the east. Manchuria was coquered than the chinese coast, the giants thought eachother.
some years later the war started with germany and checkoslovakia, then poland and ww2 "officially" started.
Evereything in this world affects the other, if north korea bombs Japan with a little bomb now as they have done in the past, it might not be warnings as always. Then China might backup N Korea and itself invade Taiwan. And then it will keep spreading to the rest of the world.
ww3 might have started in 93 when the us put troops on saudi ground and the islamists like bin ladin and the arab world declared war against america. and there for the ww3 started and 9/11 Iraq et c.
If we can see the big picture, ww3 might not even be one big war but several. Just like the European 30 years war.

unfortunately the average american citizen has no clout to control the president. it is up the other elected officials in congress etc. i am sure if he goes way over the edge they will put considerable pressure on him to lighten up.
many people in the U.S. don't like what bush is doing either. some of the things he is doing is very necessary. while others are not.
i don't trust bush with out nukes either. but with NK the us has changed the united nations thing and removed some of the more war provoking sanctions from the table. a small concession to get russia and china to sign it. that is why the united nations is a good thing. they have to agree for the most part. so if there is major problems with NK then it is not just the united states causing it. it is the united nations decision as well.
i think if it was just up to george bush alone, we would bomb the shit out of NK
if europe doesn't like what bush is doing, they can also exert pressure on their elected officials to rein him in. he listens real well to the united nations

I am confused...
Why was the government so excited about attacking Iraq and rushing into a war. But now North Korea is becoming a real threat, the Government does not want to attack.

You could probably count Mussolini in as well. He wanted revenge after the Wal-Wal dispute. After he had taken control of Abyssinia in the late 1930s, Hitler was influenced by Japan's and Italy's actions. The League of Nations was proved weak and defenceless in many situations. That is one of the main contributers of WWII.

The U.N is as about as useful as FEMA was to katrina victims.
Paper and words havent stoped them from producing nukes.nor blockades or sanctions. So now what?(Lady-T,the little napoleon line was great!)
I dont see what more agressive sanctions would do to help.In fact it'll prolly enrage the little bastard even more.
God forbid he gets to big for his britches and launches a missle at Japan.
I just dont see another solution that dosent involve some type of millitary action taking place.

Because Bush's intentions then are all to glaringly obvious now.
I would think he doesnt want to make that same mistake again.
Besides, I doubt theirs much for America to gain by invading NK

I don't think their explosion was a success. No trace of radioactivity. You think with the example of Saddam shooting off his mouth about nuclear weapons they'd smarten up some.
Could have been a technical glitz; donno. I Do know that if it didn't turn out right they're surely going to try again. Probably that's why they threatened to test one again.

has anyone thought that maybe these idiots don't even have the bomb, i knew this sh*t was going to come out, i mean right after the tests there was doubts because of the strength of the seismic activity. i bet they aint got sh*t, and they just keep setting off conventional explosions to get everyone stirred up.

Ive wondered that too,and i hope that is the case. They cant even get the missles to fire correctly,so i doubt the nukes they have ,if they have them, would be much better. They are using crap technology. The taepodong 2 is junk.based off old scud technology.

Since the biginning i had dought, when i saw, the presidents, prime ministers etc, saying they condemn that kind of test, I had the feeling they where going to fast, they did'nt have any proof, about it. So this is why, i am not surprise that the first test came back with no radiations. So I hope we will have the chance to know the truth about that test. Witch i dought. Ch.

I am pretty sure they do have nuclear weapons. but, you guys are right about them being crappy. i think it was a failed explosion, didn't configure it right to blow inward to create the chain reaction. but, it doesn't have to be the mega mushroom cloud that we are all familiar with to create a helluva mess. even a half assed nuke is very very bad.
i think tomorrow and sunday will be the turning point as to whether the little napoleon will try anything. he will probably threaten again, and when it gets him nowhere, he will send a conventional missile towards either japan ( first choice ) or south korea.
i personally have very strong feelings this is going to happen. hopefully i will yet again be proved wrong. sometimes my strong feelings don't actually happen. but sometimes they do. and i did have two nuke dreams in the last month. the one with the two boats lowering canister like objects to explode comes to mind. " sea of japan" tsunami maybe. can't quite figure out the dreams.

According to the U.S there has been radioactivity detected
U.S. intelligence statement: N. Korea radioactivity detected
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A preliminary analysis of air samples from North Korea shows "radioactive debris consistent with a North Korea nuclear test," according to a statement from the office of the top U.S. intelligence official.
The statement, from the office of Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte, was sent to Capitol Hill but not released publicly. CNN obtained it from a congressional source.
If confirmed, the nuclear weapons test that North Korea claimed it conducted on Monday would be the first of its kind since Pakistan's underground blast in 1998.

Sanctions have been vote at UN
Yes you are right, i have learned about it this morning, so probably there was a nuclear test after all. also about one hour ago, United Nation voted Unilateral, for sanctions agains DPRK. North Korea. The ambasader of NK responsed at the UN, with saying that, any more presssure, sanctions, posed by USA, will equal an act of war for North Korea, and he left right after that, Not eaven staying for the response, of South Korea, to the sanctions, that had just be voted.
