[UFO sightings bring UK town to a standstill]

Essentially what happened was, last Saturday night around 10:30 P.M. a group of about a hundred in Shakespeare's hometown looked up into the sky and saw an amazing spectacle, when five mysterious UFOs were spotted hovering in the sky. The event above Stratford-Upon-Avon lasted for about half an hour. [Video]

Although Air Traffic Control for this area reported no unusual activity, several bystanders said they are convinced they witnessed an extra-terrestrial spectacle. The strange episode started just after 10.30pm, when the lights were seen hovering slowly over the town before three of them formed a triangular shape with one positioned just to the right.

A few minutes later a fifth came into view traveling towards the others at breakneck speed before slowing down and stopping a short distance away. Tom Hawkes, who captured these amazing images, spotted the lights during his girlfriend Kate Lyall's birthday at the One Elm pub.

He and the 15 other revelers were in the bar when they spotted some commotion outside.

Tom, 30, said: "We walked outside and there was at that time a growing crowd of about 60 people looking up at something in the sky.

"I saw this light appear, then three others. They came over our heads in formation but then maneuvered into different positions.

"Three had formed a triangular shape and one was to the right. Then another one came hurtling towards the rest at what looked like a very fast speed, but as it neared them it suddenly slowed and stopped altogether."

There are several videos posted on [YOUTUBE,] but here is the best one. The triangular shaped set of four, as seen in the still shot above, with the one offset is very interesting. It's also interesting that the UK is experiencing historic flooding right now.

I'm not usually very interested in UFO's. In fact, I normally ignore reports of them, but this one was seen by a large group of people, and I'm also fascinated that this occurrence happened to be in Shakespeare's hometown. [Shakespeare] was of course known for his tragic plays. Is it any wonder then, that the UK seems to be experiencing tragedy in the form of the [worst flooding seen in modern times?]

Genuine?many years ago where i live me and my friend witnessed several sightings of spheres,what was odd though that on many occasions we saw two small spheres and one large one go across our street,bright round spherical no sound and appeared to go up higher.Saw this on more than one occasion,as a joke i flashed my flashlight at one and then it flashed back like a camera.We also witnessed them in a line,and also came lower.One evening by the river as it is really dark we stood on the bridge,as we went towards the mobile toilet a beam of light came down above my friends head,on doing so we ran as quick as we could.Now where i lived has many aeroplanes and helicopters this wasn't.What was unusual some nights see plenty other nights not much but different patterns.Lastly another instant was walking back with my dog and my friend said that light is coming towards us,no get lost!it was and it did.If you type up ufos in bedford my name will come up as shane shubotham you will see what i had reported.
Honestly no bull,do i look now no more.I had spoken to an expert in this field and as we were talking low and behold we all saw them,my next door neighbour,my ex-partner
my children and their friends had all witnessed these sightings but had no camera at the time.If i do see one i will try and take a picture of one and send it up on here.

Are you suggesting that 1953 is not considered "modern times?"

307 people died in south-east England in 1953 due to flooding. I don't see any mention of deaths in the article.

I suppose it never occured to you that newspapers are in business to make money and that they might present misleading headlines in order to increase sales.

Just because the Times claims it's "the worst flooding in modern times" doesn't make it so.

I received an email from a friend in Australia that asked me about a report of two UFO's firing at each other over Kelowna BC.

I live here but have not heard anything about this.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this incident

My son calls the 70s the olden Days, to me it was like yesterday. So again what are modern times..... probably anytime up until your kids hit puberty.

As a personal standard maybe, but for historical standards, modern times are the last 100 years.

Flooding in the early 1600s killed 10s of 1,000s in England, but I wouldn't consider that "modern" times.

There may also have been a slowing of Atlantic circulation during the Little Ice Age, which lasted from 1300 to about 1850 and created temperatures low enough to freeze the River Thames in London.

Just goes to show you the sniveling Brits are never satisfied. Either it snows too much or it rains too much.

It's interesting that as another British head of state enters the United States, something happens which seems to fulfill one of RW's predictions made when the Queen visited in May. Although Queen Elizabeth II's role is largely ceremonial, she is a figurehead of merry ole England. Forgive me if I'm speaking for you RW, but since you seem to have vanished, I can't help but tie the pieces together here. I'm going to guess that the "show" you speak of below, is the prophecy, which you spoke here, and which would be fulfilled upon the next visit by a British head of state? The horses banging in the air were explained even further in the second quote, perhaps? That is, the "eye" looking upwards at the "triangle" in the sky, while below on the earth are the floodwaters covering the UK? The "gates" being not for horses, but the floodgates?

Could this be another [prophetic conjunction?] That's assuming that these aren't [Chinese lanterns] in the night sky. Which I rather doubt, given the unusual motion observed by so many witnesses in the video. That is, it wouldn't explain the rapid motion of one of the lanterns moving so quickly, and then coming to a suddenly stop, in relation to the others.

I'm a little afraid of this ability you have. After all, Jesus Himself taught that there would be great signs in the sky immediately prior to His return. He didn't say what the source of these would be, however. So if you prophesy what He taught, then I'm a little bit in awe.

Oz is sometimes short for Australia. This could be greater emphasized by the picture of what appears to be a man throwing a boomerang. I really have no idea how this could relate to the first tower of babel or why we should be scared of Australia. Of the USA's coalition Australia is one of the weakest and I also believe John Howard is unlikely to last another term in office, either through election or inner party rivalries. Still it's another possibility to add to the pile.

Another possibility could be that someone with special powers is discovered and the Oz refers to The Wizard of Oz, with the person with special powers being a wizard of sorts. I doubt this one even more than the other possibility, but we can add it to the pile anyway.

As for the original topic, those lights do definitely look weird. Too bad we can't see exactly what they are. The camera man was shaking the camera a little too much, not really his fault, and unfortunately we couldn't get a good enough zoom on them to see what they were. But it still looked pretty cool.

Yes it is starting to look like that. But I think the main reason is because this topic seems out of place in the politics area. In fact I can't see that UFOs and boomerangs have anything to do with politics and current events. I would request that this be moved to the paranormal section since that is usually where topics about UFOs belong. Atleast there UFOs, boomerangs, floods and zoo animals can be strangely related if need be.

If you unlock the "gates," but don't release any horses, yet you bang their rears in mid air, that could very well mean thunder without hooves, and floodgates, hence the reference to "mid air." After all, what kind of horses fly through the air? Obviously the "grease" could refer to mud, and "her sacred fleece" points in the direction of home, as she is head of the church of England. So the show was indeed the prophecy here, while she was on U.S. soil. That's a pretty amazing prophecy if you ask me.

Who said that this wasn't an event of historic proportions due to the definition of "modern times?" The Financial Times is a highly respected publication. They have turned the clock back 200 years on this flooding, making the curious predictions of RW's even more noteworthy.

That was really cool about the UFO's I saw it in another forum, but they think it was fake. How you could fake that is beyond me. This sort of reminds me of the movie "signs" It started off with crop circles to wierd beings being seen then to seeing UFO's in the sky just like i just saw! If I start seeing them around here, I'll start freaking out!! Thanks for showing the video!

Just to clarify, a 1 in 200 year event doesn't mean that it was the worst flodding in 200 years. It's a rating given to flood data which describes the likeliness that this type of flood will reappear.

Technically - with all things being equal - a 1 in 200 year flood should be worse than a 1 in 50 year flood. However, all things are not equal. Flood defences get better, urban areas get larger, weather changes etc.

The flood that happened in 1953 was a tidal flood. 2007 was a fluvial flood. The ratings cannot be compared in the same way.

Yah, it was pretty interesting, but to me it sounds like a bunch of local nuts goofing off with flares and hovercrafts on the lake like I have seen before. When I was in school in Kelowna a couple Coast Guarders were fired due to misuse of government hovercrafts.

There have been plenty of UFO sightings in the OK Valley. One family has claimed for years that they have been the subjects of numerous abductions and said that aliens chased them back into their car on a back road. I spent numerous nights at bush parties in the vicinity of that back road and not once saw anything. Two of my friends also live in that area and have never seen anything.
