Id say we or some of us are losing direction
We may be in the midst of a recession but will come through in the end
The worrying trend grows of constant food price rises on a weekly basis.
The greedy get greedier whilst us grunts put up and never complain once!
2008 has been so far war famine and the weather which has all been topical news.
You do have to ask as a species what direction we are going in.
I dont think the storms can get anyworse than they are but to only to increase even more.
The thought of becoming bankrupt and joblessness provokes the mind.
The power that we have come accustomed to seems a little shakey with under investment or cannot be bothered.
The streets and roads become quieter and empty shops rise sharpely,as have noticed lately of course due to the recession.
Oil prices may go down but still the cost of living rises everyman for himself then!
2008 2009 and beyond what will be the outcome of mans fate?
So then how do i sum it up?
Power outages due to under investment recently mentioned in the uk
Food prices become out of reach for those who are middle class and poor
Energy prices creates even more poverty and many deaths rise beyond the national average.
Disease and illness occurs more due to no heat or food as cannot afford.
The war well we were supposed to have one but America is so poor cannot afford another conflict, namely with Russia.
Joblessness rises as well as closures of larger stores as well as the smaller,no benefits for nobody then!
Again this can be clearly seen.

The ol Time monk Web Bot guys were on coast to coast last night-
this time thier predictions started going into the land of the bizarre
(see- americans committ mass suicide...thread- sounds similiar without the collider aspect)
Some predictive highlights .......
" The event could be something such as a "false flag terror attack" in some part of the world, U.S. may not necessarily be at epi-center of said event. It could also be a "slow boil" event such as a bio-agent released. There are expected elements of a prequel that will set the stage for the event, between the dates of September 15th-September 27th."
" 2009: Disappearance language gets more specific. Big changes. Some of the "powers that be" will disappear. "Powers that be" will be out and about with large groups of people with them and they will all disappear.
A lot of alien activity way off in the future."

[Bank of America to buy Countrywide]
BREAKING NEWS
updated 20 minutes ago
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Bank of America said Friday it will buy Countrywide Financial for $4.1 billion in stock, a deal that rescues the country’s biggest mortgage lender and expands the financial services empire of the nation’s largest consumer bank.
The acquisition will make Charlotte-based Bank of America Corp. the nation’s biggest mortgage lender and loan servicer.
Bank of America said it initially plans to operate Countrywide separately under the Countrywide brand, with integration occurring no sooner than 2009 ... cont. at link above.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They don't see beyond their blind optimism that the United States is in deep trouble. There are times when optimism should rule over cynicism, but now is not one of those times.
It's interesting that the first big financial news today, is Bank of America's reported buyout of Countrywide for an estimated 4 billion in stock ... no cash ... which tells me that they aren't worth any.
Here's how the story should read, but the false prophet won't say it, not in 4 billions years.
"USA's largest mortgage lender is worth a tiny fraction of it's original market capitalization, due to hurricane Katrina."
[Speaking of Ron Paul being a prophet,] I'm not such a bad one myself, and I say that any company which buys this tormented institution, is itself going to one day be in trouble. Word on the street is that the feds are secretly behind this bailout. That's right, read the small print closely, because this powerhouse of America's banking system shall also suffer a similar fate, unless there is true repentance here in the U.S.
If you say, "well that's not possible," RW ... think again, because if she goes, the United States goes into bankruptcy. It's not a wish or a desire. Those are the facts. This entire house of cards is coming down and there is nothing except mass repentance, which can stop it.

Let them fill her vaults with money and see if it helps. Abandon and flee from her as from a hurricane of flying embers. Everything she touches is consumed. Every capital venture, a failure. Look, even the mountains far beyond her torment, are reduced to ashes.

Going on recent news events i see an energy crisis a food crisis and class riots to eventual war.
Economy breakdown equals a crime wave!
Climate change equals eventual breadown of society!
An energy crisis and food crisis all of above!
One or two of above will cause civil wars the other guarding or cutting off our supplies, leading to an eventual world conflict between Israel,Russia,America and fianlly Iran oh and anyone else who hates our guts!
The first one i see though which could immediately occur will be jealousy then a large surge of thefts of electrical goods.
If i cannot have neither can you! so im going to either steal it from you or knife or shoot you!
Now that people increasingly feel they cannot afford that new HD TV or hi-fi, will they be more likely to steal it?
We are likely to see rates of imprisonment rise as unemployment rises.
I also see beseigement and riots ocurring against governments as the downward spiral of this recession worsens.

The ground in this area is like a sleeping giant. The earth's crust is like the chest, rising and falling. When you awaken a slumbering animal after a long hibernation, it is often necessary to [clear the throat] and cough.

I want to make a final prediction for 2008, there is a 4 day window between the 25th of Dec and the 29th Dec where we have no moon and dark skies. I reckon we will see an event during this time be it Israel into Gaza or India v Pakistan or a major event elsewhere, but during these 4 days.
Guess I was a day out in my Boxing Day thread, but I was right in this one.....

Digging deep into the past Climate Change History of Planet Earth, using core
samples, <1/2 inch sample no less>data and the sun's cyclictic data,
i'd have to say- it'll play out like this:
worldwide displacement of water.
worldwide unstable atmospheric disturbances happening
vast undersea volcanism and sea floor anomolies strengthen
and then,
a particularly hard winter would hit. The spring would come late, and summer would peter out early, then the winter snows appearing as early as September. The next winter would be brutally cold,
feet of snow and ice and the next spring wouldn't happen at all, with above-freezing temperatures only being reached for a few days during August and summer never coming..
So far, only those scenerios in bold have happened.
Just like it happened in Earth's Past.
<during a 3 year transitional period> so, 2008/2009/2010. by 2011
it should be a very cold planet... if history means anything at all....

Either way, bring in 2009 and more dire predictions...

I will make a prediction for this coming summer. We will see some kind of 'civil disturbance'..not sure whether to call it a 'riot' or a 'war' yet..depends upon how far things go, but one thing for sure, I got a gut feeling that we will be in for a long hot summer.

Oh I totally agree, Medic. I think crime will be on a big rise too due to the job shortages.
I had a dream last night that I broke into a store... Managed to get away from the cops.
