Picken's Plan
http://www.pickensplan.com/
"America is addicted to foreign oil.
It's an addiction that threatens our economy, our environment and our national security. It touches every part of our daily lives and ties our hands as a nation and a people.
The addiction has worsened for decades and now it's reached a point of crisis.
In 1970, we imported 24% of our oil.
Today it's nearly 70% and growing."
This guy is brilliant. He's an oil tycoon named T. Boone Pickens and he has a plan for America to reduce and hopefully one day eliminate our dependency on foreign oil. I've seen a few TV commercials by him and he says "dig, dig, dig but we still need to find alternate energy" (I'm paraphrasing). Watch the video in the link to the website. Really good stuff here. We should be electing him as president.

I saw this guys commercials and initially thought "what is he trying to pull on us" but, started reading and he has some really good points. He's about things
many on here have talked about before...trying to reduce and finding other methods.
Thanks for posting this Jena! People should know about it.

I read a magazine article about this guy. Invest in his ideas, as he is a money making machine that prospered thru the funky late 80's.

Jena thanks for posting this. I keep telling myself I'm gonna check this Pickens guy out but never seem to get around to it. I really like what he has to say. I thought the same thing as Davey initially but now I am behind him 100%.

I think it's very normal for us to be suspicious of oil tycoons. We've had a big oil family in the Whitehouse for 8 long scary years and I too was leary of this guy. But he is sincere and so on the money that we cannot discount what he is proposing. We need to get behind him and force his plan down Washington's throat. And to agree with pico - he is a money making machine - invest in wind power, natural gas, etc.. They are the new "oil" of our future and the billions of dollars we spend on foreign oil each year would be transferred back to the good old USA. We could tell the Saudi's and Iraqi's and whoever else to shove their oil up their collective asses.

I saw that add to on msnbc and it is a punch, especially now in a election year.
Of course we can't have complete confidence, but i ear him,
this commercial is plausible, and right on target, well time will tell, especially after election.

which is a much more heroic plan than oil man greed face proposes.

And your point? Are you against alternate energy, less dependence on foreign oil and keeping billions and billions of dollars in the US instead of in the hands of our enemies?

I think it's very normal for us to be suspicious of oil tycoons.
especially after watching "There will be Blood". The government should take over electrical plants and water utilities. (and thier power source) Corporations and profit in my mind have no place in the the realm of utilities.
