News of the Stupid Forum
I think it would be cool to have a special forum of sub-forum for news of the stupid. Everybody loves news stories that relate to human stupidity (such as this one http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28366005/), and I'd post them except for the fact that the current events forum doesn't seem like quite the right place for it. Also, since it's hardly apocalyptic, other than the fact that human stupidity is likely to be the culprit for the Apocalypse, if and when it finally happens, it seems a bit off topic on the whole.

Exactly! There's constantly stupid people in the news, but I think putting it in the legitimate news forum kind of pollutes it.

This sounds like a great idea, although most of the news would be coming from New Hampshire, there are toothless hillbillies everywhere here.
no offence to any toothless hillbillies either, especially if you live next to me.

ok, how about actual Real News of the Stupid - so that would leave out the stuff from the Onion and Posts from weirdo members of AO (like me, for example).
the Humour section already suffices for The Onion - hell, I might make them my Homepage after a 2 year hiatus.
but there is SO MUCH News of the Stupid out there thanks to the world of a trillion cellphones we live in ...
but I feel it would be worthwhile to try and keep the News of the Stupid a Factual thing - thus preventing it from becoming a dumping ground for dumb 'Shopped images of weird shit going on at parties ...

Yes, this weirdo agrees Mez. The Onion can stay in the Off Topic Humor section. I would be more interested in reading the real stories.
