Nice ones Medicvet

My husband is a great blues fan so we have the blues on a lot

We went to a blues festival some time back and John Lee Hooker was top of the bill. Sadly he was ill and couldn't attend so we had Jools Holland instead which was very good.

Here is Jools

that was freakin awesome!

I found this song earlier, and couldn't believe they actually put it on youtube..it's not very well known, but is fun and silly, and my best friend Cindy and me used to play it all the time, and had just about all the words memorize, lol

I remember that Medicvet. It was quite big over here.

That was a funny one Smoke. Maybe it growes on you.

This is Sam Brown who is a favourite vocalist with Jools Holland.

I have loved the band from the time they were Jefferson Airplane to Jefferson Starship to Starship, and I know for some reason a lot of people hate "We Built This City", and I think VH1 put it on their 'top' of the worst songs ever..go figure.

First concert I ever went to was Jefferson Starship when they had their 'Winds of Change" album out..and of course that was the first song they played, and I was in 7th heaven!

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Z50G07A6HzE

They also played this one:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=f_PV4vVP1Yg

And I don't care if it is too 'pop' or whatever else VH1 says, "We Built This City" rocks!

Patti Smith did a version of Ghost Dance on her Easter album in 1978 (ish)

Here she is in 2007 singing it still

First time I ever heard this song was when I bought the CD "Appalachian Journey" with yoyo ma and heard James Taylor singing this Stephen Foster classic, and it has become of my favorite songs ever. Couldn't find the particular version..but found some versions that literally gave me goosebumps tho..hope you enjoy these as much as I did:

The first link worked but the second one didn't. Most places seem to have had their bad times and the industrial revolution in Britain was no exeption.

I'm not sure if it was written with that in mind but is is very fitting.

That link seems not to be working anymore so here is another one
