The government might be hiding something
I would recall Armageddon (the movie) . The NASA and Government poeple were hiding the truth to the general public that Asteriod that was going to impact the earth. Recalling that particular scene. Hmm maybe you never know NASA or the US Government can be hiding something in reality.
Besides there are reports about Yellowstone National Park that something is happening. Who knows there could be a asteriod heading straight for us that might hit in 4-4-04 what Nortatdumus (i think i spelled it wrong) predicted.
This is just a thought Please Share your Thoughts

Hmm, seems like my post didn't want to show up on the page. Well, my post went something like this..
I think that the government will always try to hide things from 'us' (generally, the public) in order to insure stability and sanity so that things won't go the wrong way. I think you've heard this said plenty of times, but that's the best suggestion we have. Personally, I think currently the government and NASA maybe holding facts not released to the public...

'Course they are hiding stuff... They will hide everything that may cause panic until the general "public" actually SEE the threat.

I too seruiously doubt that if an asteroid were heading our way that the government would say something right away. they like to wait til the last possible moment,

Even if something of that magnitude were to happen, what would be the point of the Public knowing? We couldn't do anything about it, so we might as well just not know and prevent some chaos.

Think of all the exciting things we could do if we knew we were going to die in a week.
We could bring back the Coliseum for a few days and have some fun with tigers and prisoners.
We could fire nukes at the moon and see what happens.
We could organize neighbourhood SUV dirbies - with one person in each car allowed a metal pipe.
What glorious times we could have before our utter destruction!
