Ghetto Culture and laughing at everything.
Ok. Since most of us here, us being you guys, are hyper-sensitive nuts rarley.... sometimes... often I'll just be the good ol' blunt Assassin I always am.
Where I live alot of the blacks are whatever you want to call it....poor, lower class....etc. What I am about to say I can only assume happens elsewhere but I have no idea. But I still want an opinion on it.
My friend has a name for it although as blunt as I am I still try to not to resort to labeling things. He calls it "Ghetto Culture". What is it? Laughing at everything when you black (which only seem to happen when your black). Now obviously laughter is one of mans best things. I am referring to the fact that blacks with ghetto culture seem to think EVERYTHING is funny.....EVERYTHING, more particularly I mean serious things such as movies...tv..
Today at the dollar theater I seen Rambo with my friend. In the scene where they are at the enemy village the soldiers had women from another village and began at first... well in short "sexually" touching the woman. A bunch of black guys in the theater were shouting "Oh yeah smack that ass baby! JIGGLE JIGGLE!". Then a few scenes later they began to rape the women and being a Rambo it was a still a little more graphic then most movies. While everyone else was feeling the pain and sadness of the scene the men were laughing their asses off and getting a kick out of it. "F*ck that asaian p*ssy! Hell yeah!" among other things were being said.
Fucking sick. They tend do this in every movie. Schindlers List, I Am Legend...you name it. Doesn't matter the genre, the scene...whatever. Even scenes that make the most manly man cry I seen them laugh at. This seems to be a thing we notice, at least around wherever we go in Northern Ohio. I don't think I have ever seen anyone of another culture or color do it. Not that I am trying to single out blacks.
Once again my friend calls it Ghetto Culture and while I don't know if thats really a good term I have some questions...
1. Why do <insert term or whatever> find everything funny?
2. What would you do if you heard someone laughing at a rape scene for instance?
3. Anything to add?

Seeing as you are poor white trash ..... why are you so Racist against them when you actually have more in common with them than anybody else ??
Anyway, I'll hazard a guess ..... maybe those black dudes are just young and hanging out with their buddies and realise that it's just a movie and want to have some fun No different to the young white dudes behaving in exactly the same way all over the rest of 90% white America ??
Or maybe it's because the underclass of society, the poor and uneducated who live off welfare, are just plain AssWipe's ..... no matter what colour they are ??
What do you think AssWipe ??

I've actually seen the same reaction from white upper middle class jock boys...go figure. I really don't believe it has anything to do with culture or class (well, maybe lack there of). I think that most likely they are trying to impress each other, to appear 'cool' to their friends. Of course this behavior is neither cool or impressive, but peer pressure can make young people act like morons sometimes.

I don't know that this will add much to the conversation but...
I have a friend from California. 20 something, white, generally spoiled but for no good reason because I know his family and they're far from rich or elite.
He came to visit our farm and he called everything "ghetto". It grated on my fucking nerves so bad. I think it's just a word that gets thrown around without any real thought behind it or even knowing what a "ghetto" really is.
I forgot to answer the questions...
1. Why do <insert term or whatever> find everything funny?
2. What would you do if you heard someone laughing at a rape scene for instance?
1) I've heard people laughing in crowds, at funerals, in theaters, etc because when
people get together they tend to forget where they are and all they focus on being
with their friends. I don't think they're finding everything funny, I think they have
something going on that you aren't aware of and are laughing at that. Just because
you're paying attention don't assume everyone else is.
2) Unless it was cutting into my experience or ability to enjoy or respect something
I probably would be annoyed but would say nothing. I'm not Emily Post and am
not in charge of telling other people what they should and should not laugh at. I
did go to a funeral and heard people behind me laughing and did tell them to shut
up...and they did. Telling a group of anyone in a theater to would probably get
my ass kicked. It's more important to me that I take it seriously rather than if
someone around me does.

Probably because it was a movie. If there were experience the real thing they may not have re-acted the same way. Sure did get your attention, and that is probably all they were after.

While I do agree with Sky on what she said, I haven't seen very many middle class white jock do that. I have see a group, being 5 or more, get really loud and love to should out fuck just to see how many of us adults turn and glare at them. Then they run off snorting like some kindergardner who just picked a booger.
1. Why do <insert term or whatever> find everything funny? - Because it isn't real for them. Would the laugh at a drive by shooting?
2. What would you do if you heard someone laughing at a rape scene for instance? - It caught everyone's attention and they were trying to piss everyone who was there off.
3. Anything to add?[/quote] - There is a Ghetto culture. This is a culture created by those that live in a Ghetto and want to remain in a Ghetto. Anyone, IMO, can do something about their living situation. There is always a way to improve ones self. Sometimes it takes someone else's ambition for them to see there is a way. Sometimes it take someone taking them by the hand and showing them to have self confidence Sometimes, people are just satisfied to be who they are and will never change.

We laugh about a coyote strapping ACME rockets to is ass and launching itself into a canyon.
We laugh about an thin man accidentally beating up a fat guy.
We laugh about someones love life being completely ruined by his incompetent friends.
We laugh about a cat constantly trying to murder a little brown mouse.
We laugh about the same mouse wreaking havoc on a curtain cat.
And don't we all love the weird unfortunate events that weird squeaky duck gets in?
We laugh about a lot of things that in the real world would have resulted in severe suffering or death.
Perhaps they simply realized that they were just watching a movie and made fun of the act.
There is always a big difference between watching a movie and real life.
Wheter or not you see the humor of it depends on the person.

I think theres a difference between Wile E Coyote strapping a rocket to his back and someone being raped in a movie.
When I watch Wile E I know its a cartoon and obviously its supposed to be funny. I mean duh, its made for kids. Its humorous.
Where as when I go see Rambo I see its called a action/drama and the stuff in it is meant to be NOT comedic. Theres no guys making one liner jokes, no silly people getting hit, no silly anything. Its obviously a movie that people are going to see beacuse they aren't there for a comedy.
And to me the whole "Well people see things differently" is just a piss poor excuse. It would be diffrent if it was something like a comedy movie with a sad scene or something and someone is taking it WAYYYY to seriously. Its a comedy. No need to cry your eyes out. But its obvious certain things are meant to be watched certain ways because they are certain genres.
If you are to stupid to for instance see the movie Schindlers List IS NOT A COMEDY then stay home. Or go see it and give everyone their money back because your dumb ass was laughing through out there by killing any connection you had to anything in the movie.
Which is the whole reason people see movies. To be entertained and feel something depending on the genre. If I see a zombie movie I want to be freaked out, a war movie I want to see a good war flick among other things, a comedy I want to laugh...etc. What I don't want is the complete opposite beacuse people are to stupid to know how to react to movies.
Once again maybe its just the people around here but its annoying as hell.

I thought this was funny but and or gross, but still a movie. Make this real
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BeZBGSy_HMM
Would I laugh out loud sometimes maybe. But still. It is an attention getter. If a rape scene on screen was protrayed as real. I wouldn't like it.
But come on.... AssX was talking a bunch of loosers watching a Rambo movie, right? If they were watching a rape in front of them, may depend on if it is one of their mommas or sis'as
Still a MOVIE. Unless AssX can give me examples of this happening outside of the movie theather, or in EVERY neighborhood, I don't give a shit.
Will it, probably, do I tolerate it nope, I leave. It isn't worth my time if a bunch of punk ass kidds get their jollies laughing at a movie.
That is why I wait until it comes out on DVD. PS just watched "I am Ledgend" with Will Smith. Pretty sure they (the punks AssX talked about) would have laughed at something in that movie too.
~ So what?

About the new Rambo: Fucking awesome movie, seriously the most VIOLENT movie I have ever seen. By the time it got to the "rape" scene there had already been so much graphic violence that the scene was like "downtime".... And what came next made the entire first half seem like taking a nap.
Grind House: I was invited to go see it but seriously, I cant sit through 4 hours of B-movie action.... Although it does sport a cast of A-list actors/actresses.
All I know is ball, and good....... and rape.

Grind House was.....interesting. As for I am Legend the scene where he (spoilers) basically chokes his dog to death and you can see him getting all emotional as he does it. When that was happening TWICE when I seen it a bunch of black guys were laughing there ass of. I just wanted to slam them against a wall and tell them to shut the f*ck up. Killed the scene both times.

dude if they were laughing at the scene where he chokes his dog to death that has to be some sort of emotional cover, I mean that was his only friend and I found that scene hard to watch, even though that was his only choice him or the dog imagine that was you, you wouldnt be laughing too fuckin hard bastards, lmao rage there i know its only a movie but if you can literally put your self in his shoes, you would be like ... damn ....

Thats not "ghetto" culture though AssX and it has nothing to do with anybodies skin color. All across the globe you will find that it is a mostly MALE thing to laugh at inappropriate times. Or, more astutely: to laugh when its funny to laugh and not necessarily because there is something funny to laugh at.

I think had that happened to me I would've pulled out a .357 and gone Rambo in an I am Legend screening...not that I own a .357 or anything.
I don't think this problem is really race-specific because I've had some friends I've gone to see movies with who probably had the combined IQ of a mentally handicapped rock but, regardless of the social ramifications involved noise of any kind in a theater pisses me off.

When I went to go see 300 I noticed two guys crying together when the Spartans, led by Dilios, made the last charge against the Persians before the credits roll (Oops, SPOILERS! If you didn't know what the ending was going to be you should probably check the history channel first anyway). Granted it was a pretty epic scene but crying? Come on. Someone really should take their Man card at the door.

Ya, he can still play a tuffguy hero. And if that doesnt convince you, he has less than 1 minute of total dialog in the whole movie.

Ha, sounds like Stallone. Honestly when I first heard about the movie I found myself laughing imagining Rambo in a wheelchair rigged with side-mounted machine guns and a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher.

Rambo was good. I don't care for Stallone and he does always seem cheesy firing a big ass mounted gun likes hes Rambo or something..oh wait he is... but for the pure gore factor the movie was worth it. Not some crappy ass movie where the aren't afraid to show a little blood.
If you DON'T want me to spoil it skip this next line:
But when he gets ahold of mounted gun on the hill... DAMN. Talk about gory. I wasn't disgusted or anything, if anything I was impressed a again. I especially like that poor guy driving the vehicle when he first opened fire. I don't think there was anything left of that guy buy some chunks of feet. lol.

Have you ever seen video of dog fighting? Gangs of men and sometimes even children standing around watching the most brutal of dog fights and when one dog pisses itself or shits itself - they laugh at the dog. When the dog loses the fight - they laugh while the dog is shot, kicked, hung, drowned, etc.. There is no limit to brutality for laughs in some cultures. Look at the Romans and their blood sports. Laughing, laughing, laughing, We (humans) are sick bastards.

It comes from living in the ghetto where you know everything is a catch22.
I know it, I understand it, I've seen it. A lot of guys I work with are ghetto and so they come to a point of understanding that they aren't understood and the world outside of their situation is the real joke, because it is pretending to be something it's not.
Here's a question; which is worse - raping a girl or making a movie about raping a girl and making millions off it while we are all entertained? One is the real act, the other is feeding our hidden natures so that we willing pay to see what is usually something that we don't see.
Usually those that are funny, and witty are the ones that have taken their aggressions and funneled them into something positive the only way they know how.

The real rape is worse. A movie with rape isn't bad. Well depending on what your talking about of course. Like the movie Rambo with its tiny rape scene or you meen literally a movie about rape, in that case then I'd say rel rape and the movie are equally as bad.
But for a movie that just has a small rape scene, which tend not be very brutal its done usually for many reasons, all which in the end are for emotional reasons. Which is the point of the movie.

I am a funny guy. I can cheer someone up when their sad or mad but I can be serious. Where my dad doesn't know how to show the right emotion. When something sad/dramatic...etc is on tv or in a movie he cracks a joke which is just about as bad as people laughing during those scenes. You can see hes sad about the scene but since he uses being funny with everything he doesn't know how to show any other real emotion properly.
Me and my mother often yell at him when were watching something at home because its not funny after awhile.

You know, we live in this weird society and laughing at a movie rape...it's just
a part of what is going on.
We're the culture that has grown up with people winning $100,000 every week
for making videos of someone getting hit in the nuts.
We made and watch "Jackass: The Movie"
One of the most popular television shows on tv, "American Idol" focus' on
and profits from those first few weeks when people come in and make fools
of themselves...and we talk about it the next day and laugh at them.
We play video games that are nothing but exploding heads, fragging people
and adding an entertainment element to killing.
How could laughing at rape surprise anyone?
It has nothing to do with color, creed, race or if a person is from a ghetto
or from Beverly Hills.
We've been raised as, and we are a whole generation that thinks all forms of violence, embarrassment and degradation is just "good ol' fun"

Over here in Britain we've a terrible problem with youths being out of control and antisocial, no particular ethnic group or anything, just the teenagers seem to find other people's misfortune highly amusing! I've grown up in that same culture and am of that same age but I'm still a functioning member of society (even if i do say so myself!)
What I think it is with most people is that they come from a home with very little love and respect - I've been sitting on the train before getting harassed by teens and getting things thrown at me while the parents are sitting there with them, they just watch! It's a ridiculous thought, people so delinquent should NOT have children!
And yeah it's hard to walk through the town without having people hurl abuse at you and laughing and I don't think I've ever made it through town with my girlfriend without people wolf whistling and asking her to 'shake her ass'.
I know the type of human being you mean, these people are a horrible and disgustingly common but they exist throughout the world, from all walks of life, sticking that attitude to one ethnic group is simply not right, because it happens everywhere and with anyone. I've seen more Caucasians laughing at people's misfortune and discussing who they plan on beating up next than anyone else but that is far from saying that such activity is limited to that group of people
