Finally i went to see that movie, i love SciFi and i wanted to see it badly.
I was lucky that it was 1/2 price, because the movie is not worth of paying the full price, all the Special Effect in the movie are on the Trailer, The rest of it is quite dull.
One thing that i loved very much about the movie is the end of the movie. The way the movie is ending is great awsome idea.
So from a point of vue from a viewer, not that Good, but for a SciFi book writer as myself, That story as full of potential.
So wait for renting the movie or PPV. If you really can't wait then try to pay half price lol

Keanu destroys everything he touches. The only thing that he hasn't ruined is the Matrix (the writers ruined that) and even that isn't an example of stellar acting, only stellar script-writing and FX.

I just posted on the other thread about this, and i have decided to say it here to, as i did the last time, finally i tought about all this since, and i was waiting for a lot of action, the action there was we already saw on the trailer, but the story tho is very good, especially at the end, the very end of the movie, if that would happen wow!!!
So i will buy the DVD anyway, as i bought Cloverfield, and the potential of that movie will help me write the sequel of my 1st book (not published yet, not even tryied yet, scared lol) but dont worry no Copyright only ideas that will lead to new ideas for the sequel of my book. hummm... anyway lol.
So guys if you dont want only action and special effects, then you will like this movie.

Oh ya everybody critics all the Scifi's that is not the first time i see that,
Scifi is Scifi, nothing more so if you dont like them you dont go see them,
War of the Worlds was based on a story written by Herbert G. Wells in 1897, with the tripods, the red weed etc. So they did a movie about this in our time.
Independance day, is a Classic, I really liked the idea of the city sized space ship
that was awsome,
So for a scifi lover The Day The Earth Stood Still was not that bad finally especially at the end.
So guys when you like Scifi you go to the movie or rent or by the dvd
If you dont like Scifi you stay home.

We saw it last week - When the movie ended a lady behind grumbled "well that was a shitty movie" - and I thought hmph - I actually quite liked it. It had elements in there that I found very interesting and creative - the big robot was great - Keanu - (see, now I think he has the midas touch) was excellent.
It wasn't a fantastic film that you simply have to see, but it's worth a rent.

If I go see this movie, it will be in spite of Keanu, not becaus of him. I loved the original movie, and hope they don't fuck it up the way they fucked up planet of the apes with that crappy remake.
I liked war of the worlds and independence day just fine, as well as armageddon and the day after tomorrow..just love that end of the world stuff; puts my own shit in its proper perspective, you know?
I don't know if I will be able to see it in theaters, but hope to be able to.

Hi Krakoatoa - I hated this movie. I saw it the day it came out - waited for it to start and then it was over (thankfully). Two hours of my life lost. Bummer.

Even if a lot of peoples did not like Independance day or War Of The Worlds 2005, we did not wait long for the actions to start and that is for sure and the sound!!! wow.
Now THe day the..... it was the same for me i was waiting for the action to start,
the only thing good for me in the movie is what i can do with it for a sequel of my book, there is so much potential for a lot more action and horror, so i will take ideas, about a subject like that, and mixed it with other ideas coming from me and other moovies i saw or books i read in the past,
So the potential great but when i was in the theater ... not the same, but still i will buy the DVD i am a Scifi freak.
And i also liked The Day After Tomorrow a lot medicvet, Also Armageddon, Deep Impact, The day after etc etc etc. also for the same reason the idea of the end of the world,
The other kind like Cloverfield or the Tripods the first time we see it, is to be able to imagine the impossible happening.
Krakatoa.
