That book that predicted 9/11
I just remember something. In one of the AO chats from last year(or something), people were discussing this book that predicted 9/11.
Discuss.
(or is there another thread for this?)

r u talkin about "The Grand Chessboard" by Brzezinski? 1998? Calling for a "Pearl Harbor"-like event in order to project forces into Iraq? An orchestrated event ala Robert Stinnett, "Day of Deceit".
It didn't predict 911, it called for a major event to catalyze policies.

As of '94 and '96, Tom Clancy wrote two bestselling thrillers about a pilot deliberately flying a fuel-laden jet into the Capitol building and killing the President and top leadership (Debt of Honor , 1994; Executive Orders, 1996).
He has what some call "inside" access to the US military... If you've ever played any of his games, or read any of his books it's fairly obvious.... He is not some lunatic conspiracy theorist.
Clancy wrote two novels about jets being crashed into the Capitol by terrorists. But according to Congressional testimony, the military "never imagined" that the 9-11 scenario was possible.
When asked about it Clancy said "Four planes? That many people willing to die for the same cause at the same time? If any writer had turned in a story like this, the publisher would have just handed it back and said, 'No way. Not believable.' "
We agree with you, Mr. Clancy. The 9-11 plot is unbelievable. That's why we don't believe it.

Spend a day reading Islamic fundamentalist messageboards and websites, and you will see, 9/11 is a very real vision for their cause.
