The title say's it all, what if the biggest conspiracy ever is the fact that NONE of them are true? Yes NONE, zero, zilch, think about it??? The conspiracy theory industry YES industry as a whole is damn near an economy unto itself, think about the cash flow involved---book's, dvd's, television, motion pictures. What if that is the case? I believe as human's we ( I want to believe) sound familiar ie. the title for the new X-Files motion picture. What if that is the case?

We as a society love the mystique of the unknown, but "truth" be known possibly just maybe there are really no conspiracies whatsoever, hell then that would be the biggest conspiracy theory of all, (would it not)?

Name one just one conspiracy theory that has been proven true---just ONE, then I will digress.

Watergate was a conspiracy. People didn't believe it and then it was blown wide open.

Sorry not everyone thought it was a conspiracy, the FBI. knew exactly what was going on---Bob Woodward, broke his report to make good press and covered his end as HIGH PROFILE NAUGHTINESS!

People may have thought it was a conspiracy theory, but was not published as one. Simply put---POLITICAL SCANDAL.

The genocide of the jews?

I think there are "conspiracies". How life altering they are might be questionable
and it might have a lot to do with how you define "conspiracy".

In my studies of US and European history, I've come across plenty of things
that were "conspiracies" at the time. Things that the government or parts of
the government were doing, covered up...only to be found out years later.

For example: Rudolf Hess' flight to Great Britain 1941. The death of Heinrich
Himmler...for years (still) reported as a suicide after his capture when in 2005
they released documents showing he was executed by GB to hide from the Russians that they had been discussing terms of peace with Germany behind the Soviets back. The release of the Beirut hostages timed perfectly to give
credit to Ronald Reagan and not Jimmy Carter (who actually was responsible).
Oak Ridge and the Manhattan Project ran for YEARS with only the people
directly involved knowing about it.

IF governments weren't hiding things, there would be no need for "State
Secrecy" laws...and every government has them.

I think with the books and movies...rumors...it has a lot to do with the matter
that people just don't pay attention or read enough. It's like everything that
comes out on here about FEMA camps and the power of that agency. It
SOUNDS like a great conpiracy...but, it hasn't been hidden. The laws, the
camps, the orders have all been out in the public venue since the creation
of the agency no one has bothered to read them or pay attention to them.

Conspiracy in my mind is partially state/military secrets mixed with a lot
of spin and LOTS of speculation.

It doesn't mean they're not all false, nor does it mean they're all true.

We all do know that our governments actively work to cover things up
until they're ready to release the information. Secrecy breeds paranoia.
Todays conspiracy is tomorrows history lesson. It's a matter of timing.

The question requires proof, not YOUR opinion. But then again you may be onto something there in that respect. It is an individual's prerogative to believe what they see as proof.

Hi Bloodlines,

Just an abridged version. A group of Jews in Egypt plotted in 1954 to bomb several U.S. and British interests, so as to undermine the newly formed government by the Free Officers coupe d'etat. The blame would fall on Egyptians and cause the British to remain in the Suez Canal area, thus acting a buffer between Egypt and Israel.

They were busted but after a lot of poo-pooing and 'we didn't do it" it was found out that they in fact DID do it and ended up eventually claiming responsibility.

Bloodlines, what is a CONSPIRACY if not a covert operation carried out with the full intent for another party to receive blame?

Definition: In a political sense, conspiracy refers to a group of persons united in the goal of usurping or overthrowing an established political power. Typically, the final goal is to gain power through a revolutionary coup d'état or through assassination.
