Arrow Australian voters recalcitrant

Australian voters seem to be a bit addled in the brains when it comes to re-electing a leader. And I fear that the american public may be on the verge of being brainwashed just like the Australian public was. Dont you be sucked in like the Australian public.

They were bought off by the newly re-elected government months ago with hefty family payments of hundreds as well as thousands of $$$ for families. As well as that they were brainwashed by a smooth talking treasurer that the economy was booming, but for who? The Government? I havent noticed any changes in my living situation since John Howard first became Prime minister. I just notice everything becoming more expensive and more orwellian.

Howard might have gotten in because of public belief in the booming economy but no one can eat money when the fall comes. The reality is that massive changes are coming all over the place. Any one who cant see a big war coming must be blind. The same applies to climate change. Its quickening, faster than what we are led to believe. Most Australians should be aware of this by now seeing as we are in a severe drought which has been going on for years.

I find it hard to believe that being aware of all this, the Australian public were lulled into a sense of false security based on the country's economy. Not much fun eating dollar coins..lol... There are big big problems ahead for the environment and natural resources which will affect everyone, but it seems money is more important. And the Howard government never did do much for the environment. Nor do I expect that he will in the future.

Wake up Australians and have a good look around and start thinking green..... None of you who voted howard back into office now have the right to complain when the shit hits the fan and ruination is standing at your door. Maybe then you will realize that money cant save your life and that its a hungry world out there.

I was gonna ask you crazy Aussies about this -

Fourth term in a row? You guys SURE your voting system isn't as screwed up as ours? After all, Howard's results aren't even close to the polling numbers going in, a usual sign that something is not on the level. (IE vote fraud)

At least your troops get to stay in Iraq - Woo Hoo!

Hmmm theres another point MM. Nearly half the population of Australia, if I remember correctly at the beginning of the Iraqi slaughter didnt want to send our troops over there. There were huge protests as well. So what happened? The foolish sheep let little johnny do what he wanted to do based on a lie. We all know the lie was the so called weapons of mass destruction.

Prior to that, Australia was not a terrorist target and was well rspected as a nation around the world. Since little Johnny's war decision we are now a major target and hated by many around the world and we are at war. See what I mean by addled in the brain.....Yet they still voted him back in???... ugh... It defies the imagination.

Well, hopefully the people of Iraq can now cast a fair vote and have some real say over the direction of their country. You know, a system where if you don't like what your leaders stand for, you can vote them out.

The people have spoken !

... and no, I did not.

I think its going to be close. Its very possible GWB could lose. There are still alot of undecided people here. From what i have heard Howards opposition was not really that appealing. Wasnt the guy alot younger and inexperienced?

Yeah, and in his earlier political years he didn't mind going a bit of the biff aswell. A bit more of that during Question Time would make politics a whole lot more interesting thats for sure. (for our foreign friends Question Time is a tv show airing debates in our Parliment).

quote:
"Mark Latham and his press handlers (one is, surprise, surprise, a former ABC hack) are pretty busy at the moment trying to put a favourable spin the story that Latham threw a king hit (sucker punch to our American readers) at a certain Don Nelson during a local Labor branch party meeting some 15 years ago."
