Finally, the Armageddon Online chat is ready. There are just a few small issues that we'll get worked out real soon, but we've given everyone options.
1.) If you would prefer to access the AO IRC channel via a java applet from the web (doesn't work with most corporate firewalls) you can access it
HERE. If you're not familiar with IRC, then once you get to the channel you should type in this command: /nick <username> where <username> is your AO member name. You will have to do this every time you enter the chat from the web until we can design a login script.
2.) For less load time, more customization, and an all around better experience, we advise you to download an IRC client. You can download
mIRC from their website. For more advanced users, we advise you to go with a scripted client for ultimate customization.
Once you install the clients you will have to make sure you tell it which server to connect to. The AO channel can be found on any ChatNet.org server. You can find the basic configuration instructions
HERE. Once installed, you must /join #ArmageddonOnline in order to join the conversation.
Lastly, if you use Trillian you may also connect to the ChatNet.org network and join the #ArmageddonOnline channel.
For the quickest way to connect through a client just type /server irc.chatnet.org in the textbar.
For a list of IRC commands you can access
